Supermarkets can now adopt the Plastic Free Mark, allowing their customers to clearly see if products use plastic in their packaging. This gives customers a choice to be part of the solution to the plastic problem. The UK supermarket chain Iceland was the first to introduce the mark into their stores.

The Dutch supermarket chain Ekoplaza has also introduced the mark and was the first supermarket in the world to introduce a plastic free supermarket aisle. At Ekoplaza, shoppers can choose from over 700 products that have been certified by APP as plastic packaging free.
